Typhoon Toraji forms, showers expected in eastern Guangdong and the Pearl River Delta on Nov 13

Currently, there are three active typhoons over the sea: Typhoon No. 22 "Yinxing," Typhoon No. 23 "Toraji," and Typhoon No. 24 "Man-yi."

Severe Typhoon Yinxing is expected to move southwestward at a speed of approximately 10 kilometers per hour, weakening significantly, gradually moving away from Guangdong's waters, and heading toward the central coast of Vietnam.

Typhoon Toraji formed in the northwestern Pacific Ocean approximately 1,110 kilometers east of Manila, Philippines, at 2 p.m. on November 9. By 8 a.m. on November 10, its center was located about 650 kilometers east of Manila, with a maximum wind speed of 10 on the Beaufort scale (28 meters per second). Typhoon Toraji made landfall in the Philippines during the daytime on November 11. It is expected to weaken as it moves into the South China Sea on November 12, then continue northwestward toward the eastern waters of Hainan Island.

Typhoon Man-yi is situated in waters northeast of Guam, USA. Its lifespan is anticipated to be short, and due to its distance, it poses almost no impact on Guangdong.

Weather is expected to be mostly sunny to partly cloudy across Guangdong Province with continued dry conditions on November 11-12. On the 13th, the outer circulation of Typhoon Toraji will bring scattered showers to parts of eastern Guangdong and the central-eastern cities of the Pearl River Delta.

Weather forecast:

November 12: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy across the province, with isolated light rain along the coastal cities in western Guangdong. Minimum temperatures will range from 16-18°C in northern cities in Guangdong, 21-24°C along the southern coast of Guangdong, and 18-21°C in other areas.

November 13: Cloudy with scattered showers expected in eastern Guangdong and the central-eastern cities of the Pearl River Delta. Other areas will remain mostly sunny to partly cloudy, with isolated light rain possible. Minimum temperatures will range from 17-19°C in northern cities, 21-24°C along the southern coast, and 19-21°C in other areas.

Marine wind forecast:

November 12-13: Winds of force 8–10 are expected in the Bashi Channel, northeastern South China Sea, and Taiwan Strait, with winds reaching force 10–11 near the typhoon's center. Wind speeds along the central and eastern coastal waters of Guangdong Province will gradually increase to force 7–8, with gusts up to force 9.

Forecast for downtown Guangzhou:

November 12: Sunny to partly cloudy, temperatures ranging from 22-29°C.

November 13: Cloudy, temperatures ranging from 23-29°C.
