At the Guangdong Promotion Conference of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as "the Expo") held on August 30th, it was learned that the Expo, to be held from April 13th to October 13th, 2025, is expected to attract over 28 million visitors from around the world, with the theme of "Designing Future Society for Our Lives."
As of June 6th, 2024, 161 countries and regions as well as 9 international organizations have confirmed their participation. Guangdong Province will host a series of economic, cultural, scientific and technological, and tourism exchange activities centered around health and happiness in the form of a three-day Activity Week starting at the end of June 2025, as part of the activities of the China Pavilion of the Expo.
The China Pavilion, themed "Building a Community of Life For Man And Nature—Future Society of Green Development", is inspired by bamboo slips and shaped like an unfolded Chinese traditional calligraphy scroll, showcasing the Chinese philosophy that humans must respect nature, follow its way, and live in harmony with nature.
It also displays China's vision and unremitting efforts to work together with other countries to build a community of shared future for mankind, leaving a clean and beautiful world for future generations.
Shu Huan, Deputy Director of the Department of Exhibition Management of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), introduced that the China Pavilion is located in plot A7 of the international exhibition area, with an area of about 3,500 square meters, making it one of the largest foreign self-built pavilions at the Expo. Currently, the construction of the China Pavilion is progressing smoothly, with the main structure already topped out, setting it apart as the first foreign large-scale self-built pavilion to be completed.

During the Expo, 30 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities will hold a series of activities around the theme of the China Pavilion, such as opening ceremonies, cultural performances, economic and trade exchanges, cultural and tourism promotions, and intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, bringing rich experiences with international standards, characteristics of the times, and regional features to visitors from all over the world.
The full coverage of these activities during the half-year Expo will ensure that the China Pavilion is full of highlights. Liao Yanmei, Director of the Exhibition Department of the CCPIT Guangdong Committee, stated that the Expo 2025 boasts the greatest number of activities at the China Pavilion in the history of World Expos held outside China.
Chen Xiaofeng, Chairman of the CCPIT Guangdong Committee, noted that Guangdong has long maintained close economic and trade cooperation with Japan. Last year, the trade volume between Guangdong and Japan reached 60.134 billion US dollars, accounting for nearly one-fifth of the total trade volume between China and Japan.
As an export-oriented economically developed province with strong innovation capabilities, Guangdong has long been one of China's key provinces participating in the World Expo. Making full use of the Expo and the China Pavilion, Guangdong will launch a three-day Activity Week under the theme of health and happiness at the end of June 2025, which will include the "Green and Beautiful Guangdong" exhibition, international cultural exchange activities, the big health industry matchmaking event, and intangible cultural heritage exhibitions.
In this way, Guangdong can tell its compelling stories to audiences from around the globe, thus enhancing its exchanges and cooperation with other countries and regions while opening its door wider to the outside world.
The super early bird tickets for the Expo 2025 have been on sale since November 30th, 2023.
