A drop of 7℃! New cold wave to hit Guangdong Thursday

A new moderate cold front is expected to bring Guangdong a drop of 4℃ to 6℃ in temperatures from February 29 to March 2, as reported by the provincial meteorological service.

The cold front is predicted to arrive in the northern parts of the province on the morning of February 29. It will then move southwards and influence Guangzhou from the evening of February 29, and ultimately reach the southern coastal areas on the early morning of March 1.

During the daytime of February 29, there will be light to moderate rain in Shaoguan, Qingyuan and Zhaoqing. Other regions will be cloudy with overcast periods and scattered light rain.

From the evening of February 29 to March 2, northern Guangdong will experience light to moderate rain and localized heavy rain, with freezing rain likely in the high-altitude mountains. Other regions will see light rain. Lows: 2℃ to 6℃ in Shaoguan, Qingyuan, Heyuan and Zhaoqing, -3℃ to 1℃ in the high-altitude mountains, 13℃ to 15℃ in the southern coastal areas, and 7℃-12℃ in the remaining areas.
