A strong cold wave is expected to hit Guangdong from December 16 to 19, bringing an average temperature drop of 6 to 9℃, according to Guangdong Meteorological Observatory.
The cold air will arrive in the north of Guangdong on Friday morning and affect southern coastal areas in the evening.
A dry and cold weather pattern will influence Guangdong from December 17 to 19, with the lowest temperature of about 5℃ forecast.
On December 17, the whole province will be cloudy to sunny. The lows will be 1℃ to 4℃ in the north of Guangdong, 7℃ to 10℃ in the southern areas, and 8℃ to 11 ℃ in other regions.
On December 18, most of the province will see a sunny day with a large temperature difference between day and night. The lows will be -1℃ to 1℃ in the north of Guangdong, and 5℃ to 9℃ in the southern areas, 3℃ to 6℃ in other regions.
The province will continue to see sunny skies on December 19. The lows will be 3℃ below zero to 1℃ in the north of Guangdong, 4℃ to 7℃ in the southern areas, and 2℃ to 5℃ in other regions.
