The series of events for the opening ceremony of the Henry Fok Ying-tung Memorial Hall was held on December 2nd at Nansha Bay in Nansha District, Guangzhou.
The year 2023 marks the 100th anniversary of Henry Fok Ying-tung’s birth. In commemoration of his visionary ideas and remarkable life dedicated to the reform and opening-up, the Henry Fok Ying-tung Memorial Hall announced its official opening to the public with an exhibition showcasing his life achievements. This signifies that there is one more significant historical and cultural landmark in Nansha District, Guangzhou.
Situated at the northern foot of Dajiao Mountain in Nansha, Guangzhou, the Henry Fok Ying-tung Memorial Hall is adjacent to the Nansha Mazu Temple, Puzhou Garden, and Shuixiang Yitiao Jie (Water Village Street). The memorial hall, which covers a total area of 19,871.7 square meters with an exhibition hall spanning 1,268 square meters, presents the architectural characteristics of the Lingnan region.
It is worth noting that Henry Fok Ying-tung was an outstanding social activist, a renowned patriot, a prominent Hong Kong industrialist. He once served as the vice chairman of the 8th, 9th, and 10th National Committees of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
