On October 10, Guangdong reported 28 new locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases and 25 local asymptomatic infections. Today (October 11), Shenzhen has reported its detection of BF.7 variant for the first time.
Among the new locally transmitted confirmed cases reported in Guangdong, 7 were in Guangzhou, 14 in Shenzhen, 3 in Shaoguan, 1 in Huizhou, 2 Dongguan, and 1 in Qingyuan), and among 25 local asymptomatic infections, 1 in Guangzhou, 19 in Shenzhen, 2 in Huizhou, 1 in Shanwei, and 2 in Zhaoqing.
Moreover, there were 10 confirmed cases converted from asymptomatic cases (6 in Guangzhou, 2 in Zhuhai, 1 in Huizhou, and 1 in Yunfu).

Omicron BF.7 variant identified in Shenzhen, 3 tests in 3 days required for arrivals
The Shenzhen CDC conducted comparative analysis of viral genome sequences of all cases since October 9. Results showed that most of the cases were infected with BF.7, BA.2.76 and BA.2.2 variant strains, and the BF.7 variant is detected for the first time in Shenzhen.
BF.7 is the abbreviation of BA.5.2.1.7. Compared with BA.4 or BA.5, it is highly infectious with fast spreading speed and shorter intergenerational interval, which is easy to cause large-scale transmission, according to the Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission.
From October 8 to 10, Shenzhen reported a total of 46 local cases. Among them, 32 were related to the people arriving from another city or another provincial-level region.
After the National Day holiday, a new round of epidemic appeared in Shenzhen. Most of the cases are arrivals from outside the city and their related local cases.
Shenzhen has adjusted the city's COVID prevention and control measures, requiring all people arriving in Shenzhen to take 3 nucleic acid tests in 3 days, and avoid gatherings, visitors, going to crowded places during this period.
Shenzhen reports 14+19 new local cases, including 27 cases related with arrivals from another provincial-level region
On October 10, Shenzhen reported 33 new COVID-19 positive cases, including 27 cases related with arrivals from another provincial-level region. Of the new cases, 14 were confirmed cases, and 19 were asymptomatic infections.
Among the new cases, 21 cases were detected during centralized quarantine, 1 among the home-isolated population, 2 during screening in high-risk areas, 2 during detection among the key population under non-closed loop management, and 7 during the screening at the community level.

Guangzhou reports 7+1 new local cases
On October 10, 7 new local confirmed cases and 1 local asymptomatic case were reported in Guangzhou. Moreover, there were 6 confirmed cases converted from asymptomatic cases.
Among the new confirmed cases, 4 cases were detected during the screening of close contacts of previously infected persons, and 3 cases during the investigation of people who came to Guangzhou from another provincial-level region. The asymptomatic case was detected during the screening of close contacts.

Huizhou reports 2+1 new local cases
From 00:00 to 12:00 on October 10, Huicheng District of Huizhou added 2 asymptomatic infections, detected during the screening of key population in high-risk areas and centralized quarantine.
From 12:00 to 24:00 on October 10, Zhongkai High-tech Industrial Development Zone added 1 confirmed case (mild type). According to the preliminary epidemiological investigation, over the past 7 days, the case's tracks mainly involved Sandong Town of Huicheng District and Huinan Science Park in Zhongkai High-tech Zone (惠城区三栋镇、仲恺高新区惠南科技园).
Dongguan reports 2 confirmed cases arriving from another provincial-level region
On October 10, Dongguan added 2 confirmed cases arriving from another provincial-level region, detected by cross-regional investigation. Both are truck drivers from another provincial-level region. The two people had no tracks at the community level. Terminal disinfection has been carried out on the involved trucks.

Zhaoqing detects 2 asymptomatic cases among people returning from another provincial-level region
From 00:00 to 12:00 on October 10, 1 asymptomatic case was detected in Zhaoqing's Duanzhou and Gaoyao Districts respectively. The two people returned to Zhaoqing from other provinces and were identified during home quarantine.
Qingyuan's Qingcheng reports a confirmed case
On October 10, Qingcheng District detected 1 person who tested positive among the close contacts under quarantine. The individual arrived from another provincial-level region on October 7.
On the evening of October 9, a notice from another provincial-level region identified the person as a close contact, who was immediately included in centralized quarantine. The person tested positive on October 10 and was diagnosed as a confirmed case.
Shanwei's Haifeng reports 1 asymptomatic case
On October 10, a new positive case was reported in Haifeng County, Shanwei. The individual was detected among the quarantined close contacts and diagnosed as an asymptomatic case.

Recently, the epidemic sustained spreading in many places in China. As the National Day holiday came to an end, residents continuously embarked on a return journey, and risk of epidemic transmission also rises.
According to the Guangdong CDC, recently, a case caused subsequent infections among railway station staff after the person felt uncomfortable but did not inform the attendants.
Guangdong CDC reminds that passengers should pay close attention to their physical conditions when taking trains or chooseing other public transportation options. Once symptoms related to COVID-19 occur, such as fever, dry cough, fatigue, loss of smell and taste, and sore throat, passengers should exercise protective measures, report to the attendants in a timely manner, and inform them of your travel history.
Besides, it is also advised to let the attendants know if passengers around you develop COVID-19 symptoms.
Guangdong CDC advised passengers to wear masks and reduce eating when taking public transportation, and cooperate with the tests upon arriving at the destination.
