In July, Guangdong reported 115 newly confirmed cases of mpox, including 18 in Guangzhou, 69 in Shenzhen, 5 in Zhuhai, 8 in Foshan, 1 in Huizhou, 8 in Dongguan, 4 in Zhongshan, and 2 in Jiangmen.
The cases were all male, aged between 20 and 51 years old. Their main clinical symptoms were rashes, some were accompanied by fever and swollen lymph nodes, and there were no severe or fatal cases.
Experts suggest that residents should get knowledge of mpox prevention, strengthen self-protection, and reduce the risk of infection. If there is a history of contact with suspicious animals, people, or mpox cases at home and abroad, or an MSM relationship (men who have sex with men), and symptoms such as fever and rash occur, you should seek medical treatment and inform the doctor.
