Talim, the fourth typhoon this year, is expected to make landfall this evening in coastal areas between Yangjiang City and Zhanjiang City's Xuwen County in Guangdong at a speed of 35-42 m/s, according to Guangdong Provincial Meteorological Observatory.
From July 17 to 18, there will be strong gales along the central and western coasts of Guangdong. Also, the accumulated rainfall in some coastal areas of the province is forecast to reach 100 millimeters to 250 millimeters from Monday to Wednesday.
As of 15:00 today, the center of Talim is located about 145 kilometers southeast of Zhanjiang in the northwestern part of the South China Sea. It is intensifying and moving west by north at a speed of 20 km/h.
As of 15:45 today, Guangdong has issued a total of 96 typhoon warnings, including 20 red ones, 5 orange ones, 22 yellow ones, 30 blue ones and 19 white ones.

Rainstorms will hit western Guangdong and coastal cities and counties in the Pearl River Delta on July 17. The remaining areas will see moderate to heavy rain with localized rainstorms.
On July 18, western Guangdong and the southern Pearl River Delta will experience heavy to torrential rain. There will be moderate to heavy rain in the remaining areas, accompanied by localized rainstorms.
The impact of the typhoon should weaken significantly on July 19. Most parts of the province will see moderate rain and localized heavy rain.
From July 20 to 21, the weather pattern in western Guangdong and the southern Pearl River Delta will be moderate rain to showers, while the rest of the province will turn from thunderstorms to cloudy skies with sunny periods.
