The Guangzhou Development District Huangpu District Investment Promotion Conference 2024 was held on February 21, with the theme of "Shaping the Win-win Future with Innovation and Collaboration."
The district announced its strive to introduce more than 400 projects in 2024, bring in more than 10 projects to build strong industrial chains in each key industry, and develop 10 leading private enterprises. In addition, the district plans to develop three enterprises with an output value of 50 billion yuan（about 6.9467 billion U.S. dollars）, and five enterprises with an output value of 10 billion yuan （about 1.3893 billion U.S. dollars） in five years.
The key projects were signed during the conference, covering fields such as the new generation of information technology, bio-manufacturing, the automotive industry, artificial intelligence, intelligent equipment, and the low-altitude economy.
The total investment of 43 contracted projects was about 51.6 billion yuan（about 7.169 billion U.S. dollars）, and the estimated output value and revenue were about 95.4 billion yuan（about 13.2543 billion U.S. dollars）. Individual projects such as CVTE Global Headquarters, Aion Autopilot, and Cavo UAV have investments of more than 1 billion yuan.
"Guangzhou Development District has gathered advanced industries and traditional industries. Besides the large market in the area, the pragmatism and efficiency in the business environment are also very attractive to me. They are not only attracting investment but also really planning for enterprises and helping them grow," said Shen Gang, CEO of Infore Robotics & Automation Co., Ltd, which is one of the enterprises that signed a cooperative contract during the conference.
Infore's project in the Guangzhou Development District will focus on the research and development of robot ontology, the application of intelligent manufacturing, and intelligent service systems.
According to the Guangzhou Development District government, more than 5000 foreign-funded enterprises have settled in the district. The amount of actual utilization of foreign capital ranks first among the national economic development zones for five consecutive years. There are 78 foreign-funded Global 500 enterprises setting up 179 projects in the region.
