The Taishan (a county-level city in the southwest of Guangdong province) government is encouraging standardized breeding and processing of partridge chickens. It is a kind of very popular broiler and is helping local farmers to get out of poverty and become rich.
What's more, Taishan partridge chicken industrial park has been selected as one of the Guangdong provincial modern agricultural industrial parks recently.
Taishan has a sound partridge chicken breeding management system with a record of high quality partridge chicken in the industrial park which meets the quality requirements of Europe, America and other developed countries.
According to the statistics, the park’s annual production of partridge chicken is now at 6.39 million and the annual number of listed partridge broilers is about 22 million. In 2020, the park exported more than 2.3 million chicks to Hong Kong, a year-on-year increase of 64.4%, accounting for about 85% of the Hong Kong market. At present, many partridge chicken industry operators in the industrial park are provincial agricultural leading enterprises.
The partridge chickens not only have plump feathers and huge legs but also are similar in size. As soon as chickens become fully grown and ready for slaughter and sale, they will be immediately sought after by customers.
According to Wang Zhenwen, who is responsible for the technical guidance of the farm, partridge chicken has the advantages of fast growth, low cost and quick profit. They are mostly based on the demand of broilers.
