The 5th World Media Summit officially kicked off in Guangzhou's Nansha District on December 3, 2023, themed "Boosting Global Confidence, Promoting Media Development."
“Media-to-media cooperation is an integral part of people-to-people ties around the world. It is the glue that underpins how people of different nations can understand each other,” said Melissa Fleming, UN Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications, at the opening ceremony.
