Exchange center for Hong Kong and Macao youth launched in Guangzhou’s Nansha

The Wule Service Center for facilitating exchanges between young people of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao was launched in Guangzhou’s Nansha on June 28.

The center is founded by youths from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and will organize youth exchange activities and help young people to start businesses, seek jobs, study, travel and get used to their life in Guangdong, said Sun Hongrui, the founder and director-general of Wule Service Center.

Xie Wei, deputy Party secretary of the Nansha Development Zone Party Working Committee, said that Nansha is improving the level of youth entrepreneurship and employment cooperation among young people in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

According to Nansha United Front Work Department, a 10 billion RMB investment fund has been set up to help them start businesses. In addition, cooperative links have connected Nansha to 172 government agencies, universities, societies and chambers of commerce in Hong Kong and Macao. Furthermore, about 2 thousand students from Hong Kong or Macao have joined internship programs in Nansha.

Sun Hongrui is a young man from Hong Kong. As early as 2015, he has already set up a cross-border e-commerce brick-and-mortar store in Nansha. “Nansha is growing very rapidly, and various supports and policies here make the district a good place for entrepreneurship,” said Sun. Thus, he and a group of young people from Hong Kong and Macao founded the Wule service center, hoping to help more young people to grasp the opportunities in the Greater Bay Area and start their own businesses in Nansha.

Xiang Xiaoting, the founder of Wanren company, came to Guangzhou from Hong Kong for university study. Attracted by the innovation and entrepreneurship environment, she founded her own company in Nansha in 2021. “Our company focuses on the needs of people with hearing impairment. We aim to provide smart, fashionable and affordable hearing aid products,” said Xiang.

Hu Liufang, a young doctor with a master's degree in Chinese Medicine from Hong Kong Baptist University, said she came to Nansha for the first time in 2019 to participate in a medical cooperation project. Inspired by a female entrepreneur in Nansha, she settled in Nansha and established a private hospital. “I get support on such areas as settlement and operation. I wish the supportive policies will attract more outstanding medical teams from Hong Kong and jointly provide health services in the district.”
