Guangdong is one of the main producing areas of tropical and subtropical crops in China. Leiling, a town located in Guangdong’s Shantou, has a history of litchi plantation dating back around 500 years. Grown in the fertile lands, the litchi trees in Leiling thrive in the subtropical climate, resulting in fruits that are exceptionally juicy and bursting with flavor.
Leiling has cultivated rich litchi varieties, including Wuye, Guiwei, Nuomici, Giant Beauty, Guanyin Green and so on. The litchi there have been exported to North America for 20 consecutive years.
An exciting Guangdong litchi-themed promotion event in Singapore is just around the corner. Lian Liansheng, mayor of Leiling Town, calls for foodies from all over the world to enjoy the exquisite flavors of Guangdong litchi.
