From 3 p.m. on April 20 to 3 p.m. on April 21, Guangzhou reported 11 new COVID-19 infections. From 3 p.m. on April 21 to 8 a.m. today, 4 new infections were added.

Among the 15 new infections in the past two days, 11 are locally transmitted cases while the remaining 4 are asymptomatic infections. 13 of them were detected at centralized quarantine venues; 2 in lockdown areas; there is no infection at the community level (in non-controlled areas).

From April 8 to now, a total of 266 COVID-19 infections have been reported during this wave of epidemic. There are no critical or severe cases. 15 people have been discharged in the last two days, and 21 people have been discharged in total.

Guangzhou will continue to implement classified prevention and control measures in areas under COVID-19 control.

The results of nucleic acid screening are an important basis for adjusting regional control measures. Guangzhou will continue to carry out mass nucleic acid testing in the areas under control.

Chen Bin added, “Guangzhou will also strengthen normalized prevention and control measures for key industries and at-risk populations, as well as inbound arrivals and imported goods.”

Residents are called upon to minimize mail orders from overseas high-risk countries and regions unless necessary. If they do need to receive mail, it's advised to exercise protective measures.
