Parks, scenic spots and museums in Guangdong suspend due to rainstorms

Due to the rainstorms forecast to hit Guangdong from May 10 to 13, dozens of parks, scenic spots and cultural venues in the province have been temporarily closed since May 10 to ensure safety.

It's reported that this round of rainstorms will be the heaviest, most extensive, the longest-running rainfall so far this year, according to the provincial meteorological bureau.

Starting from May 10, many tourist attractions, parks, museums and galleries in Guangdong announced their suspension, most of which will notify their opening time later depending on the weather. Please check out their official WeChat accounts or websites to catch the latest information.

Some suspended scenic spots and venues in Guangdong

In addition, Guangzhou Municipal Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau issues some precautions:

(1) Pay close attention to weather information and warning signals and avoid traveling in bad weather.

(2) Avoid dangerous areas such as mountain areas, river valleys, coastal areas and other low-lying places. Please do not participate in high-risk and water tourism activities.

(3) Keep alert to the risk of secondary disasters such as landslides and broken trees.

(4) Keep alert to lightning strikes and keep away from electric poles, transformers and other equipment to prevent electric shocks.
