According to the provincial meteorological service, Guangdong is expected to see frequent thunderstorms this week. From August 19 to 21, there will be precipitation processes ranging from heavy rain to torrential downpour, accompanied by severe convection weather conditions such as intense lightning and short-term winds of force 8-11.

Specific weather forecast in the near future:
On August 19, western Guangdong, the central and southern Pearl River Delta, eastern Guangdong, Heyuan, and southern Meizhou will be cloudy to overcast, with heavy to torrential rain, while the rest of the area will be cloudy with moderate rain and locally heavy rain. The maximum temperature will be 31-34℃ in central and northern Guangdong and 29-31℃ in other areas of the province.
On August 20, the central and eastern Pearl River Delta, eastern Guangdong, Shaoguan, and the southern Qingyuan, Heyuan, Meizhou will be overcast, with heavy rain to torrential downpour, and the rest of the province will be overcast with heavy rainfall. The maximum temperature will be 30-32℃ in western Guangdong and 27-30℃ in other areas of the province.
On August 21, cities and counties on both sides of the Pearl River Estuary, northern and western Guangdong will have heavy rain to torrential downpour, and the rest of the area will be overcast to cloudy, with moderate rain and locally heavy rain. The maximum temperature will be 31-34℃ in eastern Guangdong and 28-31℃ in other parts of the province.
In Guangzhou, thunderstorms will occur frequently from August 19 to 22, of which the rain on August 20 may be the heaviest, with local torrential downpour. The precipitation processes will mainly occur from August 20 to 21. On August 22, high temperature will return, and the weather will be sunny and hot.
