UAE welcomes more cultural exchanges from China: Louvre Abu Dhabi Manager

"The uncovering of a Ming dynasty plate reveals the long history shared between the UAE (United Arab Emirates) and China. We call for the youth to get in touch and collaborate, promoting the cultural dialogues between the two nations," Alia AlShamsi, Cultural Programming Manager of Louvre Abu Dhabi, told GDToday in an interview at the Asia Youth Leaders Forum on March 26 in Nansha, Guangzhou.

AlShamsi introduced that the Louvre Abu Dhabi exhibits Chinese cultural products with dragon and phoenix elements. She took the Chinese dragon boat as an example, saying, "we organized a dragon boat activity so the youth could take part in a traditional Chinese cultural activity. And it was well-received."

She indicated that Louvre Abu Dhabi would introduce more performances from China, including songs and dance. "Music is a universal language, and it is the sound that brings us all together. I’d love to visit more museums and theatres in Guangdong and set up new cultural exchange projects."
