On September 24, the Guangdong National Youth Orchestra held a media conference in Guangzhou to announce the launch of its student recruitment.
The Guangdong National Youth Orchestra was jointly founded by Guangdong Provincial Performing Arts Co. Ltd., Guangdong National Orchestra, and Guangdong Arts Theatre. It will be open to primary and secondary school students (both local and non-local) aged between 4 and 18 years old who are interested in Chinese folk music in Guangzhou, providing targeted training.

Teachers will include musicians from the Guangdong National Orchestra and the top ten music schools in China. Furthermore, the orchestra will also engage in exchanges with outstanding student orchestras across the country and province, participate in municipal, provincial and national folk music competitions, as well as hold regular performances and concerts, providing a platform for practice.

Peng Chengbi, general manager of Guangdong Provincial Performing Arts Co. Ltd., said that the company and the Guangdong National Orchestra will continue to cooperate in depth in the future, holding lectures by famous artists, music workshops, and other diversified activities to further promote Chinese folk music.
