Dr. Vu Viet Anh, Consul General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Guangzhou, addressed Vietnam and China are neighboring countries and share similarities incultural and historical values. "Developing Vietnam-China's comprehensive cooperative strategic partnership is always a top priority in Vietnam's foreign policy," he said.
China is the largest trade partner of Vietnam. Statistic shows that Vietnam's total import-export turnover exceeded 730 billion USD in 2022. The turnover of China-Vietnam import-export reached to 234.9 billion USD.
Chen Liangxian, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, said that China and Vietnam are geographically close to each other and enjoy a long history of friendship. 2023 marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Vietnam.
Chen said the cooperation of two countries is pursuing win-win results. "After the bilateral trade volume exceeded 200 billion USD for the first time in 2021, the number was further raised to 234.9 billion USD in 2022, injecting new impetus to China-Vietnam economic and trade cooperation," he said.
"Guangdong, the province with the largest trade volume with Vietnam, accounts for 20 percent of total China-Vietnam bilateral trade and enjoys productive collaboration with Vietnam in various fields, with fruitful results in mutual visits, trade and investment, and cultural exchanges," he added.
In addition, Chen said that Guangdong will continuously enhance cooperation with Vietnam in the fields of economy and trade, agriculture and fishery, science and education, culture and tourism, bolster and expand engagement and cooperation at the local level, to contribute positively to the growth of bilateral relations.
