The 2022 Consular Corps Reception was held in Guangzhou on July 20. Representatives from Consulates General of 56 countries in Guangzhou attended the event.
Guo Yonghang, Mayor of Guangzhou, introduced that Guangzhou's economy is steadily recovering due to efficient epidemic control, and he highlighted the recently-issued plan to develop Nansha into a strategic platform for global cooperation.
“We invite consular officers as well as expats to visit Nansha and jointly explore opportunities for investment and cooperation. We will continue to optimize public services for foreign-funded enterprises and expats as well.” said Guo.
Beh Ching Chye, Consul General of Malaysia in Guangzhou, praised the city’s business environment and opportunities especially in the field of technological innovation, “Guangzhou is one of the most attractive destinations for investment worldwide”.
He added that the Consular Corps will continue to strengthen cooperation and exchanges with Guangzhou in such fields as trade, investment, culture, education, and advanced technology research and development.
