According to the Department of Commerce in Guangdong, the Guangdong delegation has organized more than 21,000 enterprises and more than 45,000 professional buyers to attend the previous 4 CIIEs in Shanghai, and the intended purchase amounts have increased year by year. The scope of procurement includes biomedicine, technical equipment, consumer goods, food and agricultural products, service trade, and other fields. Many Fortune 500 companies, such as ABB, DuPont, Rheinland, and Siemens, have committed to expanding their investment in Guangdong.

"The CIIE is not only a conference for selecting high-quality products from all over the world, but also a conference for attracting investment and technical cooperation." Sun Bin, deputy director of the Department of Commerce of Guangdong, said that Guangdong would combine market demand and industrial characteristics to use the CIIE fully. It will be a platform for the conference, carry out specific on-site activities, and build a new platform for Guangdong to expand external communication, exchanges, and cooperation.

Liu Fuxue, deputy director of the China International Import Expo Bureau, said that compared with previous CIIEs, the 5th CIIE has continued to optimize its business exhibitions, innovate investment promotion, and upgrade comprehensive national exhibitions.
