The 20th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) will be held in Shenzhen from May 23 to 27, 2024, according to a press conference held by the Information Office of Shenzhen Municipal Government on May 14.
Preparations for the 20th ICIF are still underway, with a substantial uptick in participation compared to previous years. A total of 6,015 exhibitors from government bodies, cultural organizations, and enterprises will participate, representing an increase of 2,419 from the last session.
The 20th ICIF marks a significant step towards internationalization, attracting 302 overseas exhibitors from 60 countries or regions. Notably, the Frankfurt Book Fair, the world's largest publishing fair, will also be participating. An International Cultural Trade Hall has been established for the first time to facilitate cultural trade and exchange, with the participation of global enterprises and institutions from Spain, Scotland, Japan, Nepal, and more.
The domestic exhibitors include world-renowned tech giants like Tencent and Byte Dance, who will be showcasing cutting-edge technologies in the cultural business sector. China's "new three items" of cultural exports, namely net literature, web drama, and online gaming, which are gaining popularity among overseas consumers, will also be showcased at the fair.
The 20th ICIF will have a total of 8 pavilions. These pavilions are divided into 3 comprehensive ones, presenting a wide range of cultural enterprises, products, and projects grouped by regional governments of different levels in China, regardless of specific product categories. The remaining 5 pavilions will focus on specific categories or themes, including intangible cultural heritage, arts & design, film & television, e-sports, cultural tourism & consumption, and international trade, among others.
The main venue is located at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center, supplemented by 52 branch venues dispersed across various districts in the city. Additionally, a VR ICIF will provide simultaneous access to the fair through ICIF's website and WeChat account.
It is expected that the 20th ICIF will attract more than 90,000 buyers on-site, with 30,000 overseas buyers joining online or offline.
