The central and eastern parts of Guangdong are forecast to experience moderate to heavy thunderstorms, accompanied by short-term gusts and a slight temperature drop of 3℃, according to Guangdong Meteorological Observatory.
On August 17, the central-eastern Pearl River Delta and eastern Guangdong will be cloudy to overcast with moderate thundershowers and localized heavy rain. The remaining areas will be cloudy with localized (thunder)showers. The highs will reach 33℃ to 35℃ in the central-western Pearl River Delta and the western Guangdong.
On August 18, cloudy skies, thundershowers and localized heavy rain will still be seen in the central-eastern Pearl River Delta and the eastern Guangdong. The maximum temperatures will hit 32℃ to 34℃ in Zhanjiang and Maoming, and 28℃ to 31℃ in the remaining areas.
On August 19, Maoming, Yangjiang, Pearl River Delta, and East Guangdong are forecast to be cloudy to overcast with moderate to heavy thunderstorms, and local torrential rain. Short-term heavy rain and gusts are expected in some areas. The temperature will stay around 28℃ to 31℃ in most of the province.
