Ex-Chinese basketball star Zhu Fangyu launches training camp in Guangzhou's Liwan

On July 14, the Hoop Flight & Hanbao Comprehensive Training Center in Liwan was abuzz with excitement as the "Zhu Fangyu Hanbao Basketball Training Camp" was officially unveiled. Accompanied by celebratory cannon fire, distinguished leaders and guests pulled the red ribbon, marking the formal introduction of the training camp to the public.

Following the inauguration ceremony, 30 young athletes selected from nationwide preliminary rounds participated in the final selection event, where the top 10 winners will earn the opportunity to attend a free public training camp in Beijing. Outstanding participants in this selection have the chance to secure trial contracts with professional teams.

The Duobao Subdistrict community, where the camp is located, has previously hosted the first district-wide Subdistrict basketball tournament and the second elementary school basketball tournament. Eight standout elementary school players from these events were directly advanced to the final selection round of the training camp.

Chen Xiaocong, the director of the Duobao Subdistrict Office, emphasized the importance of attracting talent and technology to the area. The introduction of Zhu Fangyu's basketball training camp aims to leverage the community's strong basketball culture and Zhu's expertise to create a comprehensive basketball talent development base, including talent identification, training, and placement.

Zhu outlined the camp's initiatives, which include annual national talent searches and programs such as the "Gathering Stars" plan and Hanbao Youth Training. These initiatives offer continuous training opportunities for basketball enthusiasts, aiming to discover and support potential talents, thereby creating a talent pool.

"Our coaching team consists of highly experienced and professional trainers who are passionate about selflessly sharing their knowledge and expertise. In addition to providing technical training, we also place a strong emphasis on fostering team spirit, sportsmanship, and resilience," Zhu Fangyu said.

Zhu further expressed his commitment to leveraging personal and team resources to establish the training camp's brand, enhance its public service mission, and improve youth basketball skills. The goal is to provide a broader platform for young people from various backgrounds to pursue their basketball dreams, cultivate a pool of basketball talent, and contribute to the development of basketball in Liwan.
