Police across the province of Guangdong launched a special campaign for breaking drug manufacturing and trafficking gangs from August 5 to 7, according to Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department.
During the campaign, Guangdong police arrested more than 530 suspects, confiscated nearly 5.7 kg drugs, including 520 thousand bottles of Nitrous Oxide. Particularly, more than 7 tons raw materials for producing drugs were seized.
A spokesperson of Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department said that Guangdong police has vowed to establish Guangdong as the safest and most stable region through improved measures for hunting drug manufacturing and trafficking.
According to Chinese Criminal Law, people who smuggle, sell or produce more than 50g drugs, such as heroin and crystal meth, will be sentenced at least 15 years in prison, with possibility of life imprisonment or even the death penalty.
