From June 8th to 10th, a delegation of the Economic Development Bureau of Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin paid their visit to Porto and held an investment promotion conference and award ceremony of global investment partnership.
Delegations visited the headquarters of the Youth Foundation (A Fundação da Juventude) during their stay in Porto, an international organization that focuses on young people's vocational training, social and cultural development, and promotes young people's innovative development and active integration into society.
Antonio Lei, director of the Economic Development Services in Hengqin introduced the third Hengqin International Science and Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition to the local entrepreneurs, with a special mentioning of the “New Qinglian Award” which has been set-up to subsidize participating enterprises from Portuguese-speaking countries with high development potential.
Meanwhile, an investment promotion conference and the "Global Investment Partner" award ceremony were also held to promote Hengqin’s locality, linkage with Macao and industrial policies, which attracted more than 30 local business representatives.
Chamber of Commerce of Portugal-China small and medium-sized enterprises ( Câmara de Comércio Portugal-China PME ) was awarded with the plaque of "Global Investment Partner", a move to unite more international forces to boost Hengqin’s global presence by having events introducing latest policies and inviting foreign enterprises to visit Hengqin.
Many Portuguese companies expressed their willingness to participate in the Hengqin International Science and Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and hope to visit Macao and Hengqin to have a deeper understanding of the policies and supporting services.
