The Global Traceability Center, a public infrastructure of the digital economy established by Guangzhou's Nansha District, published seven latest achievements on June 19, covering traceability standards, data rules, intellectual property rights, information systems, monographs, digital commemorative medals, and offline operations.

The Global Traceability Center connects enterprises with consumers and regulators, and presents product information through QR codes. It has created more than 110 million QR codes for traceability, involving traceable goods of 60.7 billion USD from 147 countries, including the USA, Australia, Spain, Italy, and Thailand. More than 15 thousand enterprises have registered on the platform.
Digital economy-related industries such as big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence have been clustering in Guangdong, with the added value of the core industries of the digital economy exceeding 360 billion RMB in 2022," said Ma Shu, Deputy Secretary General of Guangzhou Municipal Government.
He noted that the Global Traceability Center is an innovative practice for constructing public infrastructure for the digital economy. And it is also one of Guangzhou's major achievements in implementing China's digital development plan.
Li Yan, Vice President of Top Ideal Group, told GDToday that joining the Global Traceability Center makes it easier for cross-border e-commerce enterprises to show consumers brand credibility. "We used to prove the product's reliability by ourselves. Now our customers can check the credible and comprehensive information via the QR codes provided by the Global Traceability Center," said Li.

The Global Traceability Center also announced that it would provide inspection and testing services, legal services for notarization, intellectual property services, and digital identification services by cooperating with 16 enterprises and institutions such as the Guangzhou Customs District Technology Center, Avery Dennison, TÜV Rheinland, as well as law firms in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.

In addition, the Center will develop new application scenarios in the fields of brand management, second-hand cars, service trade, medicine, intelligent manufacturing, infrastructure supply chain, cross-border e-commerce, cross-border settlement, supply chain finance, cultural product, international supply chain, artificial intelligence, database, pre-prepared food, and agriculture.
