To help promote the export of litchi, China Southern Cargo has implemented special price for litchi air freight from Guangzhou to Dubai and Amsterdam since June 24, with reductions up to 35%.

"According to the special price, the freight cost of litchi export to Dubai and Amsterdam is about 30% to 35% lower than before. " Li Chaofeng, Marketing Director of Guangdong Sinolitchi Agricultural Group Co.,Ltd, believed that the price reduction is expected to bring more orders in the future.
"In the past, the prices were flexible and in accordance with market demand and the air freight capacity. But the special price of litchi products we set this time can be relatively fixed, and about 30%-50% lower compared to other fruits and similar goods," said a spokesperson of China Southern Cargo.
At present, the weight of litchi exported from Guangzhou to Amsterdam and Dubai is relatively stable and direct flights within China Southern Cargo are also available. Therefore Amsterdam and Dubai are selected as pilot routes for the litchi air freight special price.
China Southern Cargo stated that they would seek more special air freight prices for other agricultural products so that more international consumers can have a taste of Guangdong produce.
