According to Zhang, close contacts, asymptomatic patients and mild-type confirmed cases can have home quarantine when conditions meet, and can also choose centralized quarantine.
Furthermore, the quarantine period for close contacts has been cut from the original "5+3" to 5 days.
Starting from today, temporary lockdown will no longer be adopted. Guangzhou will precisely designate high-risk areas to buildings, units, floors and residents.
Nucleic acid testing will be conducted for employees in high-risk positions and individuals in high-risk areas, and it will be available for those who are willing to be tested.
People are generally no longer required to present their nucleic acid test results or health codes when entering public places, except for care homes, welfare institutes, hospitals, kindergartens and primary and high schools.
People arriving in Guangzhou will no longer be tested for COVID-19 upon arrival, nor will they be checked for 3 nucleic acid test results winin the first 3 days after arrival.
Guangzhou continues to improve the level of medical treatment such as fever clinics and ICU critical care services.
The city will also accelerate the COVID-19 vaccination for the elderly, especially increase the vaccination rate of people aged above 80 years old.
From now on, residents will no longer need to register with an ID card to buy 37 kinds of drugs in the "Catalogue of Drugs Requiring Real-Name Registration and Reporting During the Epidemic" in Guangzhou, no matter online or offline, except those with ephedrine.
On December 6, Guangzhou reported 2,992 local COVID-19 cases. Among the new cases, 2978 were mild and asymptomatic cases, 13 were normal cases, and 1 was severe case. There was no critical case reported.10,204 people were discharged from makeshift hospitals, adding the total discharged number to105,038 since the outbreak of this round of the epidemic.
On December 6, Guangdong reported 1,286 new locally transmitted confirmed cases and 3,200 asymptomatic cases.
