The first modern sea ranch industrial park of Zhuhai starts construction

The construction of Lingding Sea Ranch No.2 and No.3, both equipped with Zhuhai's independently owned rectangular column stabilized semi-submersible aquaculture platforms, officially started. This marks the kick-off of Zhuhai's first modern sea ranch industrial park.

Located at Aizhou Island in the Hezhou New Area (planning) in Zhuhai, this industrial park is designed to house 240,000 cubic metres of aquaculture water, centered around a series of Lingding sea ranch platforms.

Notably, Lingding Sea Ranch No.2 and No.3, funded by Zhuhai Ocean Development Group Co., Ltd., boast rectangular column stabilized semi-submersible aquaculture platforms that have been researched and developed by the Marine Equipment Research Institute of Ocean Group. These platforms are solely owned by Zhuhai and protected by its comprehensive intellectual property rights.

Lingding Sea Ranch No.2 boasts a breeding water body of 30,000 cubic metres, while Lingding Ranch 3 features a breeding water body of 20,000 cubic metres . Both facilities are fully powered by green energy and are designed with a simple structure that ensures strong resistance to wind and waves. This innovative design not only reduces the cost per unit of water body but also guarantees zero emissions during operations, making it an environmentally friendly and cost-effective solution.

This series of net boxes is ideally suited for sea areas ranging from 15 to 30 meters in depth, offering a design lifespan of 30 years and the ability to withstand extreme sea conditions once every 50 years. Equipped with sonar, photoelectric and other fish behavior detection systems, as well as water quality and environmental sensing capabilities, they also feature funcitons of prevention of invasive alien species and other information sensing ability.

Leveraging the information base station of the net boxes, these systems perform data fusion and local monitoring. Data transmission and information communication are achieved through a wireless network and an integrated management platform connected to a database sharing platform, enabling remote drive breeding functionality.

Once operational, the Lingding Sea Ranch series will collaborate with surrounding gravity-type net boxes to create a "1 + N" clustered smart farming unit. This integration will enable the achievement of aquaculture objectives that are low cost, highly intelligent, low risk and high efficient, thereby propelling the transformation and upgrading of the traditional fisheries industry.
