Foshan's floats join London's parade to celebrate the Chinese New Year

Three floats from Foshan, Guangdong Province, China, joined the "Chinese Gala Celebration" held at the Trafalgar Square in London on Feb. 11, the second day of the Chinese New Year.

The floats donated by Foshan were decorated in traditional Foshan's architectures and accompanied by lion and dragon dances.

It is reported that Foshan's floats joined the "Chinese Gala Celebration" in 2015.

"I hope that we can promote the traditional Chinese culture to the world through Spring Festival,” said You Zhigang, vice-chairman of a friendship community between Foshan's Chancheng and Medway, which is situated in Kent in the South East of England.

The floats will join the parade in Medway on Feb. 17, the eighth day of the Chinese New Year.

Medway has signed the sister district relationship with Foshan's Chancheng in 2010.
