Continuous heavy rainfall is expected in Guangdong during Qingming Festival holiday

The northern regions of Guangdong and the northern part of the Pearl River Delta are anticipated to experience a prolonged spell of heavy rainfall from the afternoon of April 3 to 6. Specifically, certain regions are likely to endure torrential downpours, with isolated instances of extremely intense rainfall, according to the Guangdong Meteorological Service.

Meanwhile, the southern section of the Pearl River Delta and the eastern part of Guangdong are expected to receive heavy to torrential rain, with localized occurrences of severe rainstorms. Additionally, severe convective weather conditions, including thunderstorms accompanied by gale-force winds and hail, are also expected in some areas.

The provincial meteorological service strongly advises residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions against the severe weather conditions that are expected to persist throughout the Qingming Festival holiday.

Meanwhile, the southern coastal areas will enjoy cloudy skies interspersed with thunder showers. The remaining regions are forecasted to experience moderate thunderstorms, with some areas witnessing heavy rainfall.
