Haizhu's prevention and control measures at the community level will be extended to midnight on November 11, according to the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission.
Previously on the evening of November 4, Haizhu issued Notice No. 7 that residents' movement shall be strictly controlled, temporary traffic control measures shall be implemented, along with district-wide mandatory PCR testing.
On November 6, Guangdong reported 185 new local confirmed cases (122 in Guangzhou, 3 in Shenzhen, 27 in Shantou, 2 in Foshan, 1 in Dongguan, 1 in Zhanjiang, 24 in Maoming, and 5 in Qingyuan), and 1,882 local asymptomatic infections (1,813 in Guangzhou, 1 in Shenzhen, 1 in Zhuhai, 32 in Shantou, 8 in Foshan, 7 in Meizhou, 13 in Maoming, 2 in Qingyuan, and 5 in Jieyang).
In addition, there were 39 local confirmed cases converted from previous asymptomatic cases (36 in Guangzhou, 1 in Shantou, 1 in Zhanjiang, and 1 in Maoming).

"Haizhu's prevention and control measures at the community level will be extended to midnight on November 11." Zhang Yi, deputy director of the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission, said at the conference.
On November 6, Guangzhou reported 1,935 new local COVID-19 infections. 8 cases were detected at the community level, and the rest were detected during centralized quarantine or in high-risk areas.
Among the new infected individuals, 1,813 were local asymptomatic infections, 113 were mild-type confirmed cases, and 9 were moderate types, and all have already been sent to the designated hospitals, secondary designated hospitals or makeshift hospitals for treatment and observation. All cases are in stable conditions, and no serious or critically ill cases are reported.
Haizhu District added 1,880 local infections in a single day. In the past three days, the number of new infections accounts for 94 percent of Guangzhou's total. And the number in Kanglu area of Fengyang Subdistrict, and Kecun and Datang areas of Chigang Subdistrict accounts for 84% of Haizhu's total infected cases, which are the concentrated outbreak points in this round of epidemic.
In addition, the epidemic situation in districts of Baiyun, Panyu and Liwan also showed the characteristics of scattered, sporadic and cluster outbreaks, and the risk of community transmission still exists.
At present, Haizhu District remains the main battlefield for the prevention and control in this round of outbreak. While enhancing the city's regular nucleic acid screening, 5 sampling teams (a total of 2,500 medical staff members) were dispatched to Haizhu's high-risk areas to support door-to-door sampling and safe transfer of 34,000 epidemic-related people.
Shenzhen reports 3+1 new local cases
On November 6, Shenzhen reported 3 new confirmed cases and 1 asymptomatic infection, all detected during centralized quarantine.
Shantou reports 27+32 new local cases
On November 6, Shantou reported 27 confirmed cases (mild type) and 32 asymptomatic infections. Additionally, there was 1 case converted from a previous asymptomatic case (mild type).
Among the reported cases, 37 were detected during centralized quarantine, 22 during screening in high-risk areas, and no cases were detected at the community level.
Maoming reports 24+13 new local cases
On November 6, Maoming's Maonan District added 35 positive cases, among which 22 were confirmed cases and 13 were asymptomatic infections. All the patients were detected either during centralized quarantine or screening in high-risk areas. Maoming's Gaozhou added 2 local confirmed cases (mild type) in controlled zones.
Foshan reports 2+8 new local cases
On November 6, Foshan reports 2 new local confirmed cases and 8 asymptomatic infections, among which 8 were detected during quarantine and 2 among people receiving nucleic acid tests.
Meizhou adds 7 asymptomatic cases
On November 6, Meizhou's Fengshun County added 7 new asymptomatic confirmed cases, among which 5 were detected during screening in high-risk areas and 2 during centralized quarantine.
Jieyang reports 5 new asymptomatic cases
From 00:00 to 12:00 on November 6, Jieyang's Puning detected a new asymptomatic infection among quarantined people.
From 12:00 to 24:00 on the same day, 4 new asymptomatic cases were added in Puning, of which 3 were detected during quarantine, and 1 among key individuals under closed-loop management.
More about Qingyuan's new cases
On November 6, Qingyuan's Qingcheng District detected 3 people with abnormal nucleic acid test results, all during quarantine.
Zhuhai reports 1 asymptomatic case
On November 6, Zhuhai reported 1 local asymptomatic case. The patient was detected during screening of people arriving in Zhuhai from another provincial-level region.
Dongguan reports 1 confirmed case
On November 6, Dongguan's Wanjiang Subdistrict reported 1 confirmed case. The patient was detected after going to the hospital.
Zhanjiang reports 1 confirmed case
On November 6, Zhanjiang's Wuchuan reported 1 positive case living in Changqi Town during screening in high-risk areas.
