The Shanwei "Fuxi No. 1", a marine ranch project integrating marine aquaculture, scientific research, and tourism development in eastern Guangdong's Shanwei City, is under construction and scheduled to be completed by the end of June 2024.
The project was officially started on August 25, 2023 in the sea area of Jieshi Town, Lufeng City, Guangdong Province. At present, the main frame structure of the platform is under construction in three production bases at the same time, and the upper platform module has been basically shaped.

It is the world's first wind power-fishery integrated project of deep-water net-pen aquaculture and marine ecosystem sustainable development. It is the first in China to build pile-based sea ranch net-pen facilities in the open waters of the South China Sea and the first nationally to build a wind power-fishery integrated platform that relies solely on green energy for power supply.
The platform will introduce a variety of cutting-edge aquaculture technologies. For example, multi-nutrient comprehensive aquaculture technology, which will ensure the utilization of biological metabolites, reduce aquaculture costs, and enhance product yield and quality.
Also, the platform will be equipped with artificial ecological reefs, which will enhance the ecological environment and improve the abundance of local species. Additionally, the technology of bottom sowing will be put into use to consume residual bait and feces, while increasing the biodiversity of the environment both inside and outside of the deep-water net pens.
In the future, scientific research and validation projects in the fields of hydrogen production and sea breeze operation will be carried out on the platform, in order to realize the integrated development of fishery and energy.
It is worth noting that the platform is expected to produce 900 tonnes of high-quality seawater fish annually, with an annual output value of about 54 million yuan, and solve the employment problem of 200 people after its completion.
Five years later, the construction of a modern sea ranch industrial park for wind power and fishery integration will be finished based on the project, promoting the development of nursery bases, seawater aquaculture, equipment manufacturing, and other supporting industries, with a comprehensive annual output value of 10 billion yuan and supporting the employment of 50,000 people.
