Guangdong announced to build 10 provincial-level key TCM research laboratories for infectious diseases prevention and treatment this year.
The announcement was made at the 2023 Guangdong Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Work Conference was held in Guangzhou on March 27.

Zhu Hong, Director General of the Health Commission of Guangdong Province, introduced that the province will enhance TCM’s role in public health system, and deepen cooperation with Hong Kong and Macao in TCM research.
He pointed out that Guangdong will accelerate the construction of a TCM highland in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and to support the development of Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Co-operation between Guangdong and Macao.
According to Xu Qingfeng, Deputy Director General of the Health Commission of Guangdong Province and Head of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Bureau of Guangdong Province, in 2023, Guangdong will build a group of high-level TCM hospitals, comprehensively enhance the Traditional Chinese Medicine service capabilities, accelerate the construction of 20 county-level TCM hospitals leading the County-level Integrated Health Organizations (CIHOs), and establish 10 provincial-level key TCM research laboratories for infectious diseases prevention and treatment.
