The General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) recently released the evaluation results of the comprehensive bonded zones around the country in 2022. The Guangzhou Nansha Comprehensive Bonded Zone has become the only special customs supervision area in Guangdong Province that ranks as Class A in the national evaluation, which involves a total of 138 zones.
Nansha Comprehensive Bonded Zone is located in the geometric center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), adjacent to the Nansha Port Area. Eleven cities and five major international airports are located within 80 kilometers of the Nansha Comprehensive Bonded Zone.
The Nansha Port Area of Guangzhou Port has completed the first fully automated container terminal in the GBA, Nansha Port Area Phase IV, offshore automobile terminal, and grain and general terminal expansion project. Currently, 189 container shipping routes have been opened, of which 155 foreign trade routes reach more than 310 ports in over 120 countries and regions worldwide.
In the first three quarters of 2023, the import and export volume in the Nansha Comprehensive Bonded Zone was 86.77 billion RMB, a year-on-year increase of about six percent. The import and export volume of cross-border e-commerce in Nansha was 73.48 billion RMB, a year-on-year increase of about 179 percent. And the foreign trade volume of automobiles in Nansha was 4.91 billion RMB, a year-on-year increase of about 420 percent.
