A new and potent cold front has set its sights on China, but as it makes its long journey south, it loses much of its strength by the time it reaches Guangdong province, where the summer heat remains unbroken. According to forecasts, this weakened cold front is expected to impact Guangdong from the 19th to the 20th, bringing increased cloud cover and scattered showers to most parts of the province. Temperatures in the north and east are predicted to drop by around 2 °C.

Looking ahead to the 22nd and 23rd, another wave of weak cold air is expected to descend upon Guangdong, causing minor temperature decreases. Precipitation will continue to be minimal, with most areas experiencing a mix of cloudy and sunny skies. Mornings and evenings will be cooler, and there will be a significant diurnal temperature variation.
Before the arrival of these weak cold fronts, many regions in Guangdong are still experiencing maximum temperatures exceeding 30 °C. Despite the incoming cold air, Guangdong's summer seems to be resisting and maintaining its warmth independently. Additionally, due to the influence of southeastern winds from behind the high-pressure ridge, some counties and cities in western and northern Guangdong will see scattered showers. Residents are advised to carry umbrellas when going outdoors.

According to Guangdong Weather, on the 19th, most of Guangdong will be cloudy with scattered showers. On the 20th, the weather will transition to partly cloudy skies in most areas, and the occurrence of scattered showers in western Guangdong will decrease.
Here are the specific forecasts:

On the 19th, most of Guangdong will experience cloudy weather with scattered showers, and locally heavy rainfall is expected in eastern Guangdong, the Pearl River Delta, and northwest Guangdong. Minimum temperatures will be 20-22 °C in northern and eastern Guangdong and 22-26 °C in most other regions.
On the 20th, scattered showers will subside to overcast skies in western Guangdong, while other regions will be partly cloudy to overcast. Minimum temperatures will range from 20-22 °C in northern and eastern Guangdong and 22-25 °C in most other regions.
As Guangdong residents brace for these minor temperature fluctuations and scattered showers, the stubborn summer heat serves as a reminder that the province's hot weather is not yet ready to retreat.
