Dunhuang was a bustling international metropolis and a pivotal intersection between East and West in ancient times. At the salon, bamboo flute artist Zhang Fan from Xinghai Conservatory of Music, associate professor Liu Henan from the School of Music of South China Normal University, and other artists introduced Dunhuang from the aspects of music, dance, and painting. In the meantime, the exotic songs and dances, as well as performances of Chinese instruments xiao, pipa, and zhongruan captivated the audience as well.

This is the last event of the "Night at the Museum" series. The series is the first nighttime activity during the summer holiday for Guangdong Museum, encompassing concerts, exhibitions, and more special activities on Friday nights. Some visitors said that they feel the profoundness of Chinese culture through the events.

In addition to further displaying Chinese traditional art and culture to the public, these activities also promote the nighttime economy of the province. According to Guangdong Museum, the events of the series were booked up quickly each time and attracted over 10,000 visitors. Meanwhile, the museum's sales of cultural and creative products have increased by 327 percent year-on-year.

Furthermore, Zhao Lifan, deputy director of Guangdong Museum, introduced that in the future, the museum plans to launch more activities like this in cooperation with Guangzhou Opera House, Guangzhou Library, and other cultural tourism institutions nearby.
