Recently, Nanhai District in Foshan, known worldwide for its lion dance and dragon boat racing, has exhibited many new high-quality development layouts under Foshan's "Northern Strategy".
As the only Provincial Urban-rural Integration Reform and Innovations Pilot Zone in Guangdong Province, Nanhai District and its three directly related towns—Danzao, Shishan, and Lishui—view Foshan's Northern Strategy as a major opportunity to accelerate the development of strategic emerging industries and optimize urban-rural and regional patterns.
Currently, the hottest sites of Foshan's strategic emerging industries can be seen in the northern part of Nanhai. In Danzao Town, a series of academician projects continually introduces new products, making it one of the towns with the highest concentration and project output efficiency of academician projects in Foshan. In Shishan Town, a technology project with a total investment of 10 billion yuan has been put into operation, bringing a new strategic emerging industry chain to this "No. 1 Town in Guangdong." In Lishui Town, a 590-acre Hydrogen Technology Park has opened its first phase, aiming to create a comprehensive low-carbon hydrogen energy industrial park integrating vehicle manufacturing and hydrogen vehicle core equipment production.
Looking ahead, the three towns in Nanhai will continue to accelerate the cultivation of strategic emerging industries. Danzao Town is accelerating the cultivation of two new billion-yuan emerging industrial clusters: hydrogen and ammonia-hydrogen fusion equipment manufacturing, and intelligent safety and emergency. It is also striving to improve urban and rural construction, achieving deep integration development of new urbanization and rural comprehensive vitalization.
Shishan Town will leverage its strong industrial foundation and abundant innovation resources to lead with new industrialization, cultivate new quality productive forces, and strive to increase the proportion of advanced manufacturing value-added in the total industrial value-added of regulated industries. It aims to double the number of high-tech enterprises to over 3,000, establishing itself as a veritable center for Foshan's strategic emerging industries and a major industrial hub in South China.
Lishui Town will focus its resources on developing the new generation of information technology, new pharmaceuticals, new materials, and new energy strategic emerging industries, accelerate the construction of major industrial platforms, promote the aggregation of quality industries, and strive to attract 23 projects worth over 100 million yuan this year.
Driven by Foshan's Northern Strategy, Nanhai District keeps accelerating the pace of strategic emerging industry development, optimizing industrial layouts, and promoting urban-rural integration, injecting new vitality into the high-quality development of the regional economy.
