Guangzhou Metro to extend service time during Spring Festival

According to a notification published by Guangzhou Metro on January 5, service time of all metro lines will be extended during Spring Festival.

Furthermore, temperature monitors at all stations will be lifted from January 8.

The details of service time adjustments are as follows:

On January 21 (Chinese New Year's Eve), service time of entire network will be extended for 1.5 hours.

On January 19, 20, 26, and 27, Line 1, 2, 3, the northern branch of Line 3, Line 5, and Line 7 will be extended by 1 hour but other lines will not be extended.

Line 2 from Jiahewanggang to Guangzhou South Railway Station will operate 30 minutes earlier from January 16 to 20. From January 28 to February 15, Line 2 and 7 will add night trains which only allow for getting off the train. Among them:

From January 26 to 27, Line 2 will extend the service to Jiahewanggang for extra 15 minutes, besides the 1-hour extension.

From January 28 to February 8 (12 days), trains directing Jiahewanggang will be extended by 75 minutes, and the trains will stop at Luoxi, Changgang, Gongyuanqian, Guangzhou Railway Station, and Jiahewanggang stations.

From February 2 to February 8 (7 days), the operation of Line 7 from Guangzhou South Railway Station to Higher Education Mega Center South Station and Guangzhou South Railway Station to Meidi Dadao Station will be extended for 75 minutes. Additional trains directing Higher Education Mega Center South Station will stop at Hanxi Changlong, Yuangang, and Higher Education Mega Center South stations, while additional trains in the direction of Meidi Dadao Station will stop at Jinlong and Meidi Dadao stations.

In addition, on January 8, 15, and February 12 (all the Sundays), Guangzhou South Railway Station of Line 2 will operate an extra night special train to Jiahewanggang at 23:45 after the last train and 00:00 of the next day, which will only stop at Luoxi, Changgang, Gongyuanqian, Guangzhou Railway Station and Jiahewanggang stations along the way.

Guangzhou Metro predicted that more than 4 million passengers will take the metros from January 7 to 18. After the 7-day Spring Festival holiday, all lines of Guangzhou Metro will receive over 7 million passengers from January 28 to February 15.
