The Cross-border E-commerce Industry Matching Conference kicked off in Jiangmen City, Guangdong, on March 26.

The conference aimed to promote the cross-border e-commerce business of local industries by connecting local enterprises with e-commerce platforms, industry associations, and technical service providers.

Leading e-commerce enterprises such as Alibaba International Digital Commerce Group, Amazon, Shein, Mercadolibre, Ozon, Kuaishou, Dmcark, and others were invited to the event. Local enterprises in Jiangmen participated in the event, with a total of nearly 300 attendees.

Chen Xiaofeng, President of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Guangdong Committee, said that the committee will collaborate with Jiangmen City to promote the city's products in overseas markets, especially in Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Russia. A series of activities such as cross-border e-commerce investment fairs, product selection fairs, and match-making activities will be held to help traditional manufacturing enterprises develop their cross-border e-commerce business.
Wu Xiaohui, Mayor of Jiangmen City, said that six cross-border e-commerce comprehensive industrial parks have been built in Jiangmen. Jiangmen boasts a robust industrial foundation and complete supporting facilities, with 35 major industrial categories.
According to the Jiangmen government, there are seven key industries in the city, including household goods, appliances, motorcycles, plumbing and sanitary ware. Among these, household goods and appliances are the main products exported from Jiangmen. Additionally, Jiangmen is one of the largest motorcycle manufacturing bases in China.

Luo Haiwen, Head of Guangdong Public Affairs of Alibaba International Digital Commerce Group, shared the group's plan to explore suppliers in Jiangmen for cross-border e-commerce, with a focus on intelligent household appliances, the textile industry, biomedicine and health, and the modern agriculture and food industry.
"The e-commerce markets in the United States, the Middle East, Europe, and Latin America are growing rapidly," said Zhan Shihao, an expert from Shein. He added that there is great demand for Jiangmen's characteristic industrial products, such as hardware, bathroom products, household daily necessities, LED lights, and musical microphones, on Shein's e-commerce platform.
He Jiahuan, Team Leader of Channel Recruitment & Partnership Engagement (CRPE) of Mercadolibre, told GDToday that Mercadolibre plans to establish connections with more manufacturers in Guangdong. "They are more flexible for customized products and can offer more competitive prices compared with trade companies," she added.
The event was organized by the CCPIT Guangdong Committee and the Jiangmen City government. It is one of the supportive activities for the High-quality Development Project for Guangdong Counties, Towns, and Villages.
