On the afternoon of June 8, Lu Rongchun, Secretary of CPC Yunfu Municipal Committee, met with a delegation led by Somkiet Wiriya-kulnant, Deputy Governor of Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Thailand.
Lu stated that Yunfu, the youngest prefecture-level city in Guangdong, has four advantages: a rich cultural heritage, a beautiful ecological environment, a favorable geographical location, and abundant resources. Its economic aggregate has soared from "less than 10 billion yuan" at the time of its establishment to "over 130 billion yuan" today. The city has laid out plans to develop ten key park industries, including metal intelligent manufacturing, information technology application innovation, hydrogen energy, biomedicine, modern agriculture, culture and tourism, modern logistics, stone materials, sulfur chemicals, and clean energy.
Lu hopes that the two sides will further deepen exchanges and cooperation in fields such as trade, industrial investment, and culture. Under this vision, an economic and trade platform is expected to be built, focusing on Yunfu's stone materials, stainless steel kitchenware, metal intelligent manufacturing, and modern agriculture. Additionally, Yunfu and Nakhon Ratchasima are anticipated to carry forward excellent traditional cultural elements such as Chan culture and enhance the protection and research of cultural relics, as well as cultural exchanges and the development of cultural and creative products.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand. Somkiet Wiriya-kulnant hopes that this visit will be an opportunity to promote practical cooperation in fields such as tourism, cultural exchanges, and cultural relics protection by leveraging the resource advantages of both sides.
Meanwhile, he extended a sincere invitation to Yunfu's entrepreneurs to explore the market in Nakhon Ratchasima Province. This initiative will boost non-governmental friendly exchanges between the two sides and foster the development of an international friendship city relationship between Nakhon Ratchasima and Yunfu, ultimately achieving mutual benefit and win-win cooperation.
