According to Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department, invited by the General Police Directorate of Croatia, 8 police officers will go to Croatia on July 15 and conduct a joint patrol with Croatian counterpart in Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Zadar and Plitvice Lakes.

A ceremony for the patrol was held on July 14 in Guangzhou, the capital city of Guangdong Province. 8 police officers come from Guangdong, Fujian, Zhejiang and Shandong province.
Spokesperson of Guangdong police explained that the Chinese and Croatian police will conduct the patrol together for a month. They will not only address safety problems for Chinese citizens and overseas Chinese in Croatia, but also visit Chinese-funded enterprises and associations of overseas Chinese for understanding security needs and launching anti-telecommunications and internet fraud training.
Furthermore, the police officers will share work experiences with Croatian law enforcement authorities.
According to the Ministry of Public Security of China, this is the first joint patrol mission with foreign law enforcement counterpart since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Croatia. The mission will deepen bilateral relations between the two countries, but also serve the development of the “Belt and Road” Initiative.
The ministry of Public Security of China has developed the joint patrol mechanism with Italy, Serbia and Croatia since 2016.
