An African photography exhibition was unveiled in Guangzhou’s Africa Bar last weekend. The exhibition displays hundreds of photos and shows the wealth of diversity in Africa.
This exhibition marks the opening of the China-Africa Economic and Cultural week. The China-Africa Economic and Cultural week is jointly sponsored by the Institute of Africa, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS), the Africa Investment and Trade Alliance, and the China-Africa Economic and Cultural Center. The Embassy of the Republic of Namibia, the Republic of South Africa, the Kingdom of Lesotho and officials from Consulate General of Nigeria, Ethiopia, Mali, Senegal, Angola, Sudan, and Uganda in Guangzhou attended the opening ceremony.
Fu Lang, President of the Institute of Africa, GDUFS said that this is a big year for China-Africa cooperation. China-Africa Cooperation Summit is going to be held in Beijing, which is the heart of China’s foreign affairs. This year is also the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening up. During this important period, this event ought create good atmosphere for the summit.
As a major trading and economic powerhouse, Guangdong has established a very deep relationship with Africa in terms of economic exchange and cooperation. The 7-day event will focus on culture, talent, brand, investment, and other fields, including an African photography exhibition, reading club, youth talent program, China-Africa brand forum, and so on.
