On December 20, Guangdong has launched a set of new promotional videos for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Highlighting "future", people can find a lot of high-tech elements in the videos.
The six promotion videos are produced by Guangdong Radio and Television, which fall into two chapters. The first chapter – "The Future is Waiting for You" – presents a three-minute video of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The second chapter – "A Future of Infinite Possibilities" – consists of five short video pieces with each lasting 30 seconds, including "Infinite Excitement", "Infinite Mobility", "Infinite Creativity", "Infinite Opportunity" and "Infinite Connection". Together they provide a panoramic and multi-dimensional view of the practices and innovation achievements of the Greater Bay Area construction by recording and exhibiting the new look and changes of the integrated megacity cluster with 4K ultra high-definition images.
The first chapter – "The Future is Waiting for You" – focuses on the scientific and technological innovation of the Greater Bay Area. Unlike ordinary tourism or city promotion videos, the film starts with the story of an anthropomorphized grain of silica sand and uses two iconic symbols – chip and coin – to link up major cities in the Greater Bay Area, with the intention to fully display the region's culture, industry, modernization and creativity to shape a future with infinite excitement. The film doesn't depict the Greater Bay Area as a castle in the air only existing in sci-fi fiction. Instead, it's down to earth and combines together the regional features in the new era to create an imaginative promo with rich content and a brisk pace that highlights all kinds of innovations, cultures and cutting-edge technologies. The video allows viewers to understand the role of the Greater Bay Area in the world's development and integration from a historical perspective, cultural meaning, innovation and the wellbeing of humanity.
The second chapter – "A Future of Infinite Possibilities" – looks into the unique elements of the Greater Bay Area that are closely associated with people's daily life and future, while showcasing the present and future of the region regarding mobility, creativity, opportunities and connection. Creative short videos in this chapter adopt an international perspective and a fast tempo that are in line with the communicative characteristics of current social media trends as well as the casual visual language and forms that are widely popular among young people. It presents a Greater Bay Area that people have yet to discover and shows ambitious youth infinite possibilities within the region where they can find themselves, change themselves and fulfill their dreams.
