To further digitalize national health services, previously, NHC launched an activity to solicit projects on digital health, which covers five aspects, including the national health information platform, internet + healthcare, healthcare big data, intelligent application of emerging medical technologies, as well as network information and data security.

A total of 100 projects stood out. Meanwhile, 10 were selected as demonstration models that can be replicated and promoted, among which is this system built by Guangdong Provincial Center for Disease Prevention and Control.

The system has a disease database gathering data related to disease prevention and control from 10 departments, including those in charge of health, public security, customs, market regulation, and transportation.

It helps to send a timely warning of diseases and related factors, make multi-dimensional predictions, and improve the ability to analyze and make decisions.

Moreover, by establishing data-based early warning rules for disease monitoring in medical institutions, nucleic acid testing, and outpatient fever clinics, the system is able to give multi-point warnings about diseases, key groups, and key places.

On this basis, its built-in models – including big data computing and situational awareness on infectious diseases – can provide real-time monitoring, early warnings, situation prediction, data analysis, and risk assessment, which will help to control the outbreaks.
