On the evening of December 8th, a grand gathering was held at Haixinsha in Guangzhou to celebrate 40th anniversary of the reform and opening up.
Over 1500 individuals were in attendance including Li Xi, secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, Yuan Yubai, Commander of the Southern Theater of Operations, Ma Xingrui, Governor of Guangdong, Li Yumei, director of the Standing Committee of Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress, Zhu Xiaodan, director of the Committee for Liaison with Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese of the CPPCC, and Zhou Li, Air Force Commander of the Southern Theater of Operations.
