On the evening of November 14th, a multitude of guests and spectators gathered at the Guangdong Cantonese Opera Art Center to attend the opening ceremony of the 15th Guangdong Art Festival. The highlight of the evening was the premiere performance of the Cantonese opera "Zhang Jiuling".

Reportedly, "Zhang Jiuling" is a newly crafted historical drama by the Guangdong Cantonese Opera Institute, bringing together renowned playwright Luo Zhou, acclaimed director Xu Chunlan, and other top-tier professionals in the country. The role of Zhang Jiuling is portrayed by Wen Ruqing, a first-grade actor from the Guangdong Cantonese Opera Institute. The production focuses on the pivotal life experiences and political achievements of Zhang Jiuling during the Tang Dynasty, with a central theme of "Opening the Way in Meiling Mountains".

Running from November 14th to December 31st, this edition of the art festival promises nearly 70 captivating performances, featuring three "Master Achievements Exhibitions" and one "Fine Arts Calligraphy Exhibition". It earnestly embodies the festival’s core principle: "A celebration for art, a festival for people."
