Work to start on business complex in Shekou

Work will start on a 170,000-square-meter business complex in Shekou in June after the fisherman’s wharf is dismantled.

The complex, with a total investment of 20.4 billion yuan (US$3.21 billion), will include a 58-story hotel tower, two 41-story apartment buildings, an office building and a business complex that is connected by four underground floors equipped with public transport and underground parking facilities, according to an environment impact report released by the Nanshan government. It will offer 1,946 parking spaces.

At the southwestern corner of the complex, a modern aquarium will be built with a floor space of 1,800 square meters.

The new business facility, covering an area of 29,585 square meters, is expected to be a new business landmark in the city.

Work started April 13 to dismantle the fisherman’s wharf. The construction of the new facility will take three years.

It is expected to be completed in June 2021.
