Guangdong divers shine at Diving World Cup

On March 4, the first leg of the 2024 World Aquatics Diving World Cup concluded in Montreal, Canada. The Chinese diving team swept all the gold medals and ranked first in the medal list with nine golds, one silver, and two bronzes. Among them, Guangdong athlete Chen Yiwen won three gold medals, and Quan Hongchan won one gold and one silver.

In the women's synchronized 3-meter springboard final, world champion Chen Yiwen and her partner Chang Yani from Guangdong won the championship with a score of 329.40. Chen Yiwen won her third gold medal in the World Cup. Previously, she had won gold medals in the mixed team event and the women's 3-meter springboard. Chen Yiwen's condition has improved significantly compared to last month at the World Aquatics Championships in Doha, with both her third and fifth jumps scoring nine points.

In the women's synchronized 10-meter platform final, diver Quan Hongchan from Guangdong and her partner Chen Yuxi ranked first with a total score of 368.82 points, achieving their fifth consecutive World Cup championship in this event. In addition, Quan Hongchan won the runner-up in the women's 10-meter platform with a score of 411.45 points.
The second leg of the 2024 World Aquatics Diving World Cup will be held in Berlin, Germany from March 21 to March 24, and the Super Finals will be held in Xi'an, China from April 19 to April 21.
